Language and Math:
1. Read a variety of stories and talk about the
stories that you read
2. Ask questions about the stories that you read
3. Have your child practise writing his or her
first and last name
4. Have your child try to recognize the letters of
the alphabet
5. Have your child try to learn the sounds that
letters make
6. Have your child practise recognizing numbers
7. Have your child practise counting orally
Self-Help:
1. Have your child practise getting dressed
independently
2. Have your child practise using the washroom on
his or her own
3. Have your child practise eating on his or her own
3. Have your child practise eating on his or her own
4. Please pack additional clothing in your child’s
backpack
5. Have a pair of indoor shoes ready in your
child’s backpack
Fine Motor:
1. Practise using a pencil and different types of
writing materials
2. Practise cutting with scissors
3. Do a variety of puzzles
4. Explore with playdough
Healthy Eating:
1. Please enroll in the Inglewood Healthy Snack
Program
2. Pack a litterless lunch that is also healthy and
nutritious (example: roti, sandwiches, noodles, pasta, rice)
3. Pack snacks and lunches that are NUT FREE
Community Service:
1. Visit the library regularly
